Subject: Re: Alleyguide's "Real Hot Wheels"

Hi James, thanks for your interest in my article(s) about the "Real Hot Wheels.  I originally did the write-ups to share my own interests with an "eGroups" email "club" that I subscribe to.  Ken Mcllelen, who was the web master for the Alleyguide site, took my simple emails with picture links and created the page that we see (saw) on his site.  Ken was under contract with MOBILA, and the editor of THAT site paid me $50 for the use of my work for two years.  So with that being said, I would be honored to have you continue to use my credited writings on your site.  I did it for the fun of it and since I still don't have a completed Hot Wheels web site of my own yet I have no other way of keeping this article on the web.  And with Alleyguide being gone, I think it would be neat to have someone like yourself,  keep it hot linked for other people to have an opportunity to appreciate the "Real Hot Wheels".  Like I said, I really don't have my own web site yet, but I did take some time to check out your Hot Wheels page.  I like the way it's set up, it flows well.  Anyway if your curious to see some pictures of MY Hot Wheels collection and other interests, here is a link to my Photopoint page...........

I've still got take a lot more pictures to complete it as it's set up, but I think that with the excessive amount of time that it takes to go back and forth through the album, that I'd be better off I reorganized some way.  If you get a chance to check it out, I'd appreciate it if you could sign any of the albums guest books, I'm still curious to see how that works.  No one has ever left any comments before.  And/or drop me a quick email to let me know how it worked for you.

Thanks,  Mike Painter

Mike, I've been keeping an eye on Alleyguide's website.  It is totally gone now, looks like it was absorbed by Mobilia.com.  Anyway, I am writing you about the article that you wrote about the "Original Hot Wheels."  I have a part of my personal Hot Wheels website dedicated to 1:1 (real) Hot Wheels which can be found here:  http://www.jhudgins.com/hotwheels/pictures/.  I had a link to your article on Alleyguide, but now that Alleyguide is no more, the link is gone.  BUT not before I copied all of the graphics and commentary!  I figured it wouldn't last long due to the buyout. Now I said all of that to say this, can I have permission to duplicate the article on my website if I gave you all the credit like Alleyguide did?  I hope so, because that is a good piece of information for people just getting into the hobby. Let me know what you think.
